Funding Priorities

Why We Raise Funds

In Ontario, many of us have grown up with the belief that healthcare is “free” and the government provides all the funding that Hospitals need to care for our community. But the truth is, the operating dollars St. Joe’s receives from the province aren’t always enough to cover the costs of renovating patient care areas, purchasing the latest medical equipment or funding the research studies that will lead to tomorrow’s cures.

That’s why St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation works with our generous community to raise funds that can take the care our Hospital provides from exceptional to extraordinary. With the support of our donors, we’re building care spaces that inspire hope and healing, we’re investigating the power and the promise of robotic surgery, and placing the very best tools and technology into the hands of our skilled care providers at St. Joe’s.

So that when you need us, our Hospital will be ready.

Our fundraising priorities are set in partnership with the Hospital to ensure donations are going to the programs and projects where they are needed the most. We’re also happy to help our supporters to direct their gift to the care area that is most meaningful to them.
