The Story Behind Feast for St. Joseph's
St. Joseph's Feast is a celebration day for many, with a long history in the Italian culture. It is said that during the Middle Ages St. Joseph interceded to God on behalf of the people of southern Italy during a time of drought and prevented a famine. To honor St. Joseph, every year on March 19, an altar called ‘St. Joseph’s Table’ is prepared to hold the many foods and dishes continued by those gathered.
