Around the Bay Road Race

The 2021 Around the Bay Road Race Went Virtual

Our community of fundraisers, donors and community champions whole-heartedly embraced the 2021 Virtual Around the Bay Road Race. Some of you pounded the pavement, others ran in their basement – but all of you did it in support of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation and we couldn’t be more grateful!

While we missed running, high-fiving and celebrating together at the finish line inside FirstOntario Centre, our community still found a way to rally together to raise nearly $150,000 for mental health programs at St. Joe’s, including services for the community, programs for frontline workers and first responders, and the expansion and renewal of our Emergency Mental Health Services at the Charlton Campus.

Social media has been a-flutter with photos and messages of personal achievements and encouragement as participants tackled the various race routes – 2k, 5k, 10k, 15k, 30k, and The Hammer. We’ve included just a few of them with this email. Each and every one of you was an inspiration to us and to so many people – a light during a dark time. No matter how you participated this year – thank you!

Our sincere thanks go out to Anna Lewis and the Around the Bay organizing team for crafting an event that allowed our runners and fundraisers to stay safe and be flexible in their participation. Let us celebrate all we’ve achieved with this year’s Virtual Around the Bay event.

You did it for YOU. You did it for ST. JOE’S, and we are beyond thankful! We hope to see you back for an in-person event in 2022. Until then, stay safe, stay well, and keep running!
