10 years and $1M worth of baby faces are filling the halls at St. Joe’s

HAMILTON, ON – Today, St. Joe’s celebrated the 10th Birthday of its Baby Face Photo Wall. This program was founded by Teresa Cascioli, philanthropist, entrepreneur and St. Joe’s Baby, who wanted to encourage other St. Joe’s babies to give back to the hospital where their lives began.

“I’m proud to be a St. Joe’s baby. In 2008 I invited other St. Joe’s babies, and those that have been touched by our Hospital’s exceptional care and innovative research, to join me in giving back to St. Joe’s,” shared Teresa Cascioli. “I’m incredibly honoured to be standing here celebrating our 10 year milestone and to see St. Joe’s babies – young, old and honourary – responding so positively to this program.”

Over the last 10 years the Baby Face Photo Wall has raised $1,030,000 to support St. Joe’s emerging needs including facility renewal, the purchase of new, life-saving equipment and to fund vital healthcare research.

“Funds raised through the Baby Face Photo Wall have given moms and babies the best start possible through St. Joe’s Women’s and Infants’ program.  They have also supported St. Joe’s dialysis patients, contributed to building the new Charlton Campus Surgical Centre, and supported research and youth mental health,” explained Sera Filice-Armenio, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation President and CEO.

The Program’s largest photo panel to-date was unveiled at today’s birthday celebration with 45 new baby faces adorning the wall.

Since 2008, 900 babies have decorated the walls at St. Joe’s Charlton Campus. With 33 panels of photos and 41 community and corporate sponsors, the program has brought thousands of smiles to the faces of patients and guests visiting St. Joe’s.

The Baby Face Photo Wall is open to anyone, not just babies born at St. Joe’s. People can make a gift in honour of other St. Joe’s babies or get their photo on the wall as an honourary baby. For more information visit stjoesfoundation.ca/babywall.
